We’ve developed a digital image processing algorithm which provides automated CT segmentation.
Most patients live with metal artifacts (dentures, implants, etc.). When taking CT images, these interfere with the radiation of the equipment.
- It causes visual noise, distorting CT images to an extent which makes it extremely difficult (if at all possible) to create accurate surgical plans, and to do it in a timely manner.
- Correcting these distorted images is time-consuming and requires much tedious manual work.
- By the time a 3D surgical plan is being completed, it might become invalid due to the patient’s altered condition.

Introducing the complete system
As doctors need to create 3D surgical plans before operations, their only way to model internal body parts is to rely on CT images. Most patients live with inserted metal artifacts, these interfere with the image generating technology, resulting in visual errors in the images.
The currently available CT image generating tools produce results that limit a range of factors: visual noise greatly reduces the visibility of hard and soft bone surfaces, therefore hinders the accurate surgical modelling of body parts. This leaves engineers with an extended period of manual image correction and uncertainty, therefore doctors with a higher risk of unsuccessful surgeries.
We use cutting edge technology to solve this problem with an automated image processing software. It provides exceptional image quality by shedding light to as many details as possible while reducing visual noises and manual processes to a minimum.
